Steven Clem Honored at the 2014 IIDA Georgia Leadership Breakfast
Each year, IIDA selects a keynote speaker that invokes, encourages and inspires in our profession, and that has had a significant impact on the architecture & design industry.
There are currently just 9 cities that have the honor of hosting Leaders Breakfasts throughout North America, and Atlanta is the only city in the Southeast bestowed with the honor.
During his speech, Steve gave some very insightful advice to designers of all ages:
– develop and respect relationships at every level of a project. The smallest
connections when treated with respect will come back to you in positive ways.
– share your design vision with contractors, subcontractors, their superintendents
and those people who really build your work. Inspire their work and be open to
learn something new from them everyday.
– never be afraid to THINK BIG – to see more in a project than a client can see
– don’t doubt yourself. If you have achieved design success before you can do it
again. Always eagerly anticipate and cherish that moment that the clean, white
piece of paper is put in front of you to do what you love.
