For the Wanda Nanchang Aquarium, TVS envisioned a multi-sensory experience that gives guests the sensation of visiting the underwater world of the Pacific Ocean. This “liquid architecture” evokes the rolling waves of the ocean. Interior spaces feature exciting experiences with falling water passageways, a rain forest canopy walk, 360-degree views of habitats and multi-media walls that engage, entertain and inform at every turn. Nanchang Aquarium’s five aquatic environments display many unique and distinct species, known as “jewels of the Pacific.” A 2.1 million-gallon tank houses whale sharks and manta rays, and visitors can enjoy live dolphin and sea lion performances in an 1,800-seat performance theater. Other features include a submarine viewing space, a multi-function event space, and a 360-degree theater.
