Holy Innocents' Church is a thriving religious community in North Atlanta with a highly regarded private school and active parish life. Church leaders asked TVS to develop a plan for the renovation and expansion of church facilities in a phased development. Improvements included a new chapel, renovation of church offices, renovation and expansion of religious education classrooms, renovation of choral rehearsal room, and enclosure of a courtyard to become a prefunction space for two renovated parish halls to facilitate community outreach and social events.
Prior to the renovation, the church’s roof was composed of asphalt shingles. Together with the client, the design team envisioned the new building needed a sustainable and eco-friendly solution. The new roof is zinc for its longevity and clean, authentic appearance.
