For its Regional Furniture Showroom in Los Angeles, Herman Miller selected TVS to create an environment to reflect the company’s dedication to improve the human experience wherever people work, heal, learn and live through environmentally responsible design. The showroom is located in a former warehouse building with bow string wood trusses, concrete walls and courtyard space. TVS leveraged the buildings character to create a delightful sense of arrival through a garden courtyard that transitions to a dramatic backdrop that showcases furniture first while preserving the integrity and exposure of the wood structure. Dynamic curved and leaning elliptical walls guide spatial flow and organize the Herman Miller product displays. Moveable glass partitions and reconfigurable furniture have the flexibility to adapt to changing programming and space planning needs. A series of unique and theatrical pendant light fixtures unify the showroom spaces and provide adjustable accent lighting. Sustainable design solutions are integral throughout the project and it has been awarded LEED® CI Platinum. The showroom is elegant, fluid and rich in refined detail with a sense of craft and exceptional environmental responsibility.
