The Gateway Center Arena opened in the fall of 2019 as an expansion of the existing Georgia International Convention Center (GICC) campus in a partnership between the City of College Park and the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club. This new community focused multipurpose sports and entertainment venue is projected to bring significant economic impact to the area with the G-League College Park SkyHawks, WNBA Atlanta Dream and Atlanta FaZe eSports teams all calling the 100,000 sf facility home. Modern amenities include VIP tabletop seats, fixed and portable concessions about an intimate single-tier open-end seating bowl, digital LED displays, locker rooms, training room and performer dressing rooms. Programmed for live events, concerts, lectures, banquets and trade shows, the cost efficient arena seats 3,500 for basketball, 5,000 for concerts and features special acoustical ceiling treatment along with a double insulated curtain wall system to help filter out airplane noise from adjacent Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport.
