Augusta Convention Center is now open for business

CBS News WRDW-TV Augusta posted a video last week, celebrating the official ribbon cutting of the Augusta Convention Center in Augusta, Georgia.

The new Augusta TEE Convention Center contains 37,500 sf of exhibit space and a 110,000 sf expansion of the existing Augusta Marriott and Hotel Conference Center. In addition, the adjacent 100‐year‐old Harrison Building in downtown Augusta was rehabilitated and serves as the center’s lobby and point of entry.

“In my mind, it’s already a success. This is something that Augusta needs. We are the second largest city in Georgia. We need to have a facility that can house large conventions,” said Augusta Commissioner Mary Davis.
