tvsdesign was retained by a multi-national development consortium to master plan a new city with a target population of three million residents in southeast Asia. tvsdesign proposed a "green city" that incorporates state of the art environmental planning and building technology as well as extensive environmental preservation and recreational open spaces.
The city will be organized into a series of compact districts, surrounded by rivers, creeks, preserved forests, farmland and parks. The districts will be designed to maximize opportunities for walking and transit use through mixed-use and pedestrian-oriented planning. All buildings in the city will be designed to adhere to the highest green building standards. Districts will be linked to each other and other urban places in the country by a high-speed mass transportation system, which will further reduce dependency on personal automobiles.
Significant forests, wildlife habitats, farmland, waterways, hills and cultural resources will be preserved in an open space system comprised of parks and open land surrounding the districts.
