AT A GLANCE
When a rare tornado hit downtown Atlanta causing heavy damage to the million square foot Georgia World Congress Center, Emery stepped away from the normal project process and instead began in rebuilding the convention and exhibition facility. The unique task of negotiating an actively-occupied building while designing repairs and enhancements gave Emery a new viewpoint on the diplomacy of teamwork. Emery brought this experience to subsequent projects through his diplomacy with the details – defining and maintaining client goals, shepherding large and small design aspects, maintaining schedules and construction timelines. Emery’s leadership tools include his organizational skills, a technical knowledge base, and consistent communication with both his team and his clients.
