COLLEGE FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME - ATLANTA HALL MANAGEMENT
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The operators of the Atlanta College Football Hall of Fame, known as Atlanta Hall Management, made the decision to locate their new Atlanta offices into the adjacent World Congress Center. They brought in tvsdesign to create a workplace that preserved the space’s high ceilings and existing architecture, resulting in a design that uses strong linear moves contrasted with tall large scale graphics. In addition, as their work is derived from all things collegiate, the goal was to create a nostalgic and inspiring space. The result is a dramatic but elegant 10,000 sf workplace that makes use of existing architecture and highlights all things collegiate football.
DERIVED FROM ALL THINGS COLLEGIATE, THE GOAL WAS TO CREATE A NOSTALGIC AND INSPIRING SPACE
DESIGN GOALS & STRATEGY
The Management office was very specific in their desire to retain the high ceilings and existing architecture, so the design team constructed the office with strong linear moves contrasted with tall large-scale graphics. The team was challenged to channel a collegiate feel that was both nostalgic and inspiring without emphasizing any particular team. In their solution, they developed a neutral black and white color palette with field-inspired accents of rustic reds and turf greens. The beveled entry portal, light coves and millwork are all influenced by collegiate typography. Custom graphics were created in the tall, light filled space leaving a dramatic and lasting impression
The resulting design is a both dramatic and memorable office that is a true reflection of college football. The space features an archive room, which is a library of the archives from the College Football Hall of Fame. Pieces from this room are rotated to and from the actual exhibits at the Hall of Fame located across the street. From the unique large scale graphics and lighting to the turf-like colors and collegiate typography, the office brings the sport to life and allows the client’s employees to work in a unique but productive environment.
