tvsdesign welcomes Doug Finck, AIA to tvsdesign’s Chicago practice, where he will cultivate relationships and lead projects in the region with Healthcare Services Director Trish Adelman as tvsdesign expands its healthcare offerings beyond ambulatory care.
“As our work in the healthcare field expands, we made a choice to grow our team very deliberately,” said Marc Adelman, Principal at tvsdesign Chicago. “Bringing in Doug’s talent and experience is just the start of that strategy.”
In his 24 years as an architect, Finck has also worked in commercial, institutional, transportation, public safety, historic renovation and retail sectors. Most recently, Finck spent 12 years leading projects for major hospitals and ambulatory care facilities including The University of Chicago Medical Center, Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, Rush University Medical Center, St. Bernard Hospital and Alexian Brothers Healthcare (now Amita Health). It is on the heels of this recent industry focus that Finck joins tvsdesign’s healthcare practice.
Finck has managed healthcare projects that consist of many different functions and require constant adaptation, a trait of this sector that he admires. “There are so many different aspects of healthcare that constantly challenge and help you grow as an architect, and the spaces we help to create can have a profound impact on the people that interact with them,” said Finck. From day one to the completion of a project, Finck manages all aspects of the development.
Finck earned a bachelor’s in advanced technical studies and architectural technology from Southern Illinois University and a master’s degree in architecture from Iowa State University.
