tvsdesign creates new offices for Atlanta Hall Management

Atlanta Hall Management, the not-for-profit operator of the College Football Hall of Fame, has opened its new offices inside the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. The offices are adjacent to the new Hall of Fame facility, which is currently under construction and slated to open its doors in August.

Large-scale custom graphics and an entry mural comprising archival photos from the museum fill a high-ceilinged space, leaving a dramatic impression. So as not to emphasize a particular team, a black and white color palette was created with accents of rustic wood and turf green.

“Our desire was to create a space that spoke of people’s love and passion for the game, while not seeming to affiliate with any particular team. That was a fun design challenge,” said Steven W. Clem, principal at tvsdesign and a 2014 Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. “We also wanted to pay homage to football’s past while keeping the offices modern through updated finishes.”

tvsdesign also is the project architect for the College Football Hall of Fame, which was recently awarded Best Design from The Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Best in Atlanta Real Estate Awards as well as a Best of the Best Merit Award from the International Interior Design Association’s Georgia Chapter. When it opens this fall, the $66.5 million project will total 94,256 square feet and contain 30,000 square feet of exhibit space and a 45-yard indoor football field that will double as a revenue-generating event space. The Hall of Fame also will feature historic and contemporary football relics, children’s activities, interactive multimedia displays, special event and activity spaces, and an interactive Game Day Theater.

The College Football Hall of Fame and Atlanta Hall Management‘s offices are located within walking distance of the Georgia Dome, site of the Chick-fil-A College Kickoff Game, the SEC Championship Game and the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. It’s also in what’s fast becoming the tourism and museum district of Atlanta at Centennial Olympic Park. Patrons also can find other world-class attractions nearby, including the Georgia Aquarium (also designed by tvsdesign), the World of Coca-Cola, and the soon-to-open National Center for Civil and Human Rights. The College Football Hall of Fame is scheduled to open in August in time for the 2014 Chick-fil-A College Kickoff Game.
