As we begin to say farewell to the summer months, ABC News takes a moment to reflect on summer retreats, and voted on the “World’s Coolest Water Slides”.  First up? The two 200-foot twisting flumes and a 90-foot, high speed daredevil slide at the recently re-imaged Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida.

Orlando World Center Marriott has long been know as a premiere resort location for domestic and international traveler’s alike, with a property that caters both to the business traveler, and to families seeking an unforgettable experience.

tvsdesign gave the Falls Pool Oasis area its first makeover in 18 years,bringing a high-design perspective to that combines elements of playfulness and sophistication. The Icon Slide Toweris designed to be a signature for the property.

The area now includes a Splash Zone, offering kids a zero entry pool and playground, as well as a Kid’s Activity Zone. The project includes a new upscale Poolside Bar and Grill, three whirlpools and a complete renovation of the main swimming pool. The pool area retainsan updated backdrop of rock outcroppings and waterfalls reminiscent of the many springs found in the area with the new design of the pool deck and amenities enhancing the resort experience.

“With this project, our team was challenged to design a pool area that was fun as well as functional, and that would be visually and physically uplifting,” said tvsdesign designer Kavitha Iyer. “We relished the opportunity to renovate an iconic space at the world’s largest Marriott. The new pool area will create great memories for resort guests and, we hope,bring them back for years to come.”
